THREE PEOPLE
WHO SHOULD ASK.
Teaching is not riding well. It is watching somebody else make the mistake you stopped making years ago, in a language that is often not theirs.
You came for a season, you are still here, and going home to an office is the wrong ending. Teaching is how riders stay near water for a living.
You already work a northern summer and want a southern season that is not bar work. A recognised certification travels to every coast.
You ride well, you can explain things, and you are prepared for the unglamorous half: rigging, packing, watching, and repeating yourself in three languages.
RIDER TO INSTRUCTOR.
Four stages. The duration of each depends on your riding level when you arrive and on the season, which is exactly why we do not publish a fixed number of weeks.
We watch you ride and give you an honest level. Nobody starts a teaching path they are not ready for. It wastes your season.
Assisting on real lessons: rigging, launching, landing, watching a class from the outside and learning what an instructor is actually tracking.
The formal course to the external standard: teaching methodology, risk assessment, rescue, assessment of students.
Assessment and certification through the governing body, then a card that is recognised at schools worldwide.
WHAT THE COURSES COST.
These three fees are published. Everything around them — dates, duration and which certification level applies to you — is confirmed in writing before anything is paid.
WHAT YOU NEED
BEFORE YOU START.
Both directions, in a range of wind strengths, without losing ground down the beach.
Alone, in deep water, without an audience.
Not stylish — reliable. You will demonstrate constantly.
Plus any second language, which matters more here than most places.
Whether ours or yours, and which one is accepted, is confirmed on enquiry.
Age minimums and the visa or work paperwork for a season in Vietnam are answered per person.
