SAFE WATER
MUI NE
A safer sea for riders, fishermen and everyone who shares this coastline.
A BUSY BAY.
LINES YOU CANNOT SEE.
This is the problem as Liz describes it in the video message. It is Liz's account, and it is labelled that way.
Mũi Né Bay is one of the most popular beaches in the area: a place where families swim, and where people learn, ride and enjoy the ocean every single day.
Fishing lines and fishing nets are being placed directly into swimming zones and an active water sports area.
They are often invisible in the water, and they are dangerous.
A few nets should not put hundreds of people at risk every day, or block access to a public area.
WE RESPECT LOCAL FISHING. Fishing is a livelihood here, and nothing on this page is directed at the people who fish. The question is how fishing gear and active water use share the same water.
IN LIZ'S OWN
WORDS.
Liz's video message, unedited by us. The English subtitles are part of the video. The transcript below is the same text.
“We fully respect local fishermen and their livelihoods. But public safety should never be compromised.”

- It's time to rewrite the story of our ocean, and it starts by making it safe again.
- This is Mũi Né Bay, one of the most popular beaches in the area.
- A place where families swim, where people learn, ride, and enjoy the ocean every single day.
- But today, fishing lines and fishing nets are being placed directly into swimming zones and active water sports area.
- They're often invisible in the water and they are dangerous.
- We fully respect local fishermen and their livelihoods.
- But public safety should never be compromised.
- A few nets should not put hundreds of people at risk every day, or block access to a public area, and that is why we're asking to be completely free from any kind of fishing nets, lines or buoys.
- So that everyone can enjoy the ocean safely.
- The ocean belongs to all of us.
- If you believe it should be safe and accessible, please sign this petition.
- Thank you.
WHAT WE CAN SHOW,
AND WHAT WE CANNOT.
Two stills from the video, described only as far as the pictures themselves go.
In the aerial footage, long rows of small floats sit on the surface of the bay, running in lines across the water. Another shot shows a large blue float at the water's edge.
In Liz's account, lines and nets of this kind are placed in swimming zones and in an active water sports area, and they are hard to see in the water.
This page does not map the lines, count them or say exactly where they sit in relation to the riding area. It names no person or boat.
Current view only. This is the C2SKY Wingfoil Center camera at Rainbow Beach. It is separate from the video above, which describes Mũi Né Bay, and it is not evidence of what the video reports.
SEE THE LIVE CAMERA→ THE OCEAN BELONGS
TO ALL OF US.
Liz's request, in Liz's own words and in plain terms.
COMPLETELY FREE OF FISHING NETS, LINES AND BUOYS.
We are asking for the swimming zones and active water sports area of Mũi Né Bay to be completely free from any kind of fishing nets, lines or buoys, so that everyone can enjoy the ocean safely.
“The ocean belongs to all of us. If you believe it should be safe and accessible, please sign this petition.” Liz, video message
WHY
A few nets should not put hundreds of people at risk every day, or block access to a public area.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
A petition is being prepared. It will be addressed to the competent authority once that has been confirmed from reliable sources. It is not live yet, so there is nothing to sign today.
WHAT CAN BE SHOWN,
AND NOTHING ELSE.
Only steps we can evidence are listed. New steps are added here when they can be shown, not before.

COVERAGE AND
OFFICIAL RESPONSES.
Each item shows its date, its source and a link to the original. Nothing is listed unless it can be read at the source.
No independent coverage or official response has been published for this issue yet. When there is one, it will be listed here with the original link.
WHAT SUPPORT
MEANS.
Supporting this is about sharing facts and asking for a practical solution. It is never about confronting anyone.
Read the page, watch the video and share it. If you come across a hazard in the water, keep clear and tell us, so it can be reported properly.
If your school or club shares this water, tell us what you see. A shared, factual picture is stronger than one voice.
Guests come for the sea. Passing this page on to them, and to your own network, costs nothing and helps keep it safe.
This is not a page against fishing. If you have an idea for how fishing and active water use can share the bay, we want to hear it.
Liz's video ends with an invitation to sign a petition. It is not live yet, so there is nothing to sign here, and nothing on this page counts signatures. Message us and we will tell you when it opens.
