Why Mui Ne Became My Home

When I first arrived in Mui Ne 15 years ago, my main focus was kitesurfing. After traveling from spot to spot around the world, chasing the wind, Mui Ne felt different. The vibe, the people, the easy pace, it all just clicked, and this place quickly became more than just a stop on my journey. It became home.

What hooked me? It’s the combination of reliable wind, sunny mornings, and the real and friendly community. Whether I was out on the water or grabbing a banh mi for later, it felt like I belonged here.

Recently, I’ve taken on a new challenge: wing foil. Learning to control the wing while balancing on the board has been a fun yet tricky experience. The shore break in Mui Ne can make it a little harder to get started, but once you find the right spots, it’s a whole new adventure. The fun comes in figuring it all out and laughing through the wipeouts. Here’s a throwback to one of my favorite kitesurfing days in Mui Ne from 8 years ago. Watching this video brings back all the memories and shows exactly why Mui Ne became home for me. The winds, the community, the laid-back vibe, it’s all here.

And to make it even better, the movie’s theme song is “Goodmorning Vietnam” a perfect fit for this unforgettable day.

And now to quick look at my latest passion, wing foiling. These photos capture the excitement of learning something new and taking on a fresh challenge on the water.

I had the best time learning to Kitesurf at C2Sky. I’ve learnt at different centres around the world but Quy at C2Sky is the best instructor I’ve had - kind, patient, clear and so knowledgeable. Liz was great and gave us lots of useful information about the area - how to get around, where to eat, nice places to have a drink. I would highly recommend this centre !

I spent two months at C2sky and it's hard to leave. Great school, professional and patient instructors. Unique, friendly atmosphere. I learned to kitesurf here, it was not easy but it was worth it. I highly recommend this place!

C2Sky… where to start ? You offered me one of the best weeks of my life. Firstly, the place is absolutely amazing : even when you aren’t on the water, you can chill on the beach with the staff. But the most wonderful part was learning a new sport with such good teachers, advice and material quality. If I am being honest, as a beginner, I was very scared to learn kite surf in another country… but I was immediately reassured by C2Sky staff. They adapt and don’t tend to make you take extra lessons (comparing to other schools). I did 13 hours with Mike and, at the end, I could stand up and tack. I can’t wait to keep on kite surfing back in France ! Also, they are very flexible : text you in the morning to tell you at what time to meet up, if the wind is good, etc. It was very pleasant ! A huge thank you to Mike who was the best teacher I could hope for : benevolent, not too pushy and always encouraging. The equipments are high quality ones. For beginners, they provide you with radio so the teacher can always guide you from the beach. I heard they don’t do that everywhere so I think it’s very good putting that in light. Also, there was no wind the second day we were there so they made us go to a lagoon at 2 hours driving from the school, which was very helpful ! And it prevented us from loosing time there. Funny part is : we were planning on staying 3 days but we kept postponing our departure. As a result, we stayed 9 days😄 Thank you to all the staff, Maarten and Kat especially!! We are already thinking of coming back next year! Bisous from the frenchies!

We took 5 days lessons at C2sky and could only say positive things about this school. First thé instructors are wonderful. We Made a lot of progress with Joanna and Canh and compared to previous teachers I (Delphine) had, Joanna is clearly the best I‘ve ever had. They pay attention to our safety at every moment and we learn new things and made a lot of progress at every lesson. The gears are really good ! We were a bit disapointed because we wanted at first to take 9 days lessons, but the weather disagreed on that part, but of course c2sky has nothing to do with that 😅 The school in it self is really chill, and you can relax after your session on the beach. The staff is really helpful (thanks Marteen & Cat ☺️☺️) ! We hope to come back asap (maybe in March) 🏄‍♀️💨🪁 Thanks again a lot ❤️❤️❤️

Amazing experience! I had some great lessons of Quan ( on the picture ) who was not only a great instructor but also really motivated/happy to see me improve. The walkie talkys are also great for a better communication when you are in sea. Manager was very kind and all of this for very reasonable prices. Really recommended!
